Monique Wittig’s Lesbian Revolution
Monique Wittig (1935-2003) was the protagonist of a literary, political and theoretical adventure together that left an indelible mark on feminism and the LGBT+ struggles. Proposing an analysis of heterosexuality as a total political regime, his materialistic approach has made possible the possibility of a world beyond sex and gender classes, based on a new definition of human.
We will talk about it on the 20th of June with Concetta Palermo, feminist activist from Open Catania, Deborah Ardilli, translator, scholar of theory and history of feminism and Sara Garbagnoli, feminist sociologist, Laboratoire d’Études de Genre et de Sexualité (Paris) to understand together what weapons this capital figure of feminism and political lesbianism still has to offer our battles.
June 20, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the courtyard of the CGIL, Via Crociferi 40.
